UNLESS, Trump broke the law.

What processes were followed when Obama was prez that are no longer? I recall the argument by people was that how deportations were defined was changed under Obama. 

I don’t recall the conversation being around do we send in the national guard to raid restaurants.

Look Trump is prez now and all his polices are no longer talk, they are to be put into place. Do you expect everyone just to go along with what he says and say “gee let’s just see what happens ”?

If there is high profile coverage of a few thousand people being rounded up and deported (and especially if there is high profile coverage of liberals being outraged) that will be enough for most MAGA folks. I disagree here in part. There is a significant number of MAGAs will be upset without seeing millions deported. The spectacle is definitely going to be a big part of this, Trump loves that by design.

I think if there's a perp walk of a good number of tattooed Mexican men to the border and several plane loads of Haitians being dropped off at Louverture Airport; that will be enough to listen to the "they're not all bad and we need some of them" narrative crafted by big donors in the MAGA Party as the weeks go on.

Then we'll get a narrative of how we should go back to the Migrant Worker days to pick our crops to keep our costs down....which will be fine with most MAGA people.

It's not particularly about those people staying, its about who is in control over as to whether or not we allow them to stay.  

 

* In the interests of being fair, some people will fall thru the cracks and there will be a number of photos and stories about families broken up and children dumped off at the border with noone to watch them. But there won't be many.
