I had a tooth extraction about a month ago

Recommended Posts

Dentist gave me the option of getting a root canal and a cap/crown for 4k or he would just pull it for 200 bucks. It was a back molar and would not cause me any issues to just lose this tooth. He had to drill out the tooth because it would not budge trying to pull it. It went really well for dental work that involved drilling a tooth out of my head. No pain at all. The shot worked and my mouth healed well. I kept feeling pain back there though. Like jaw pain that was not there before. I looked in the mirror and noticed that the dentist missed a small bit of tooth and it was growing out of the side of my gum now. I asked the dentist about it and they said it was a shard of tooth and it would work its way out. A few mins ago I got to wondering how hard it would be to pull it out. Turns out, not very. I literally just used my finger to dislodge it. I feel like I should get a partial refund from my dentist on this bullshittt.

I would have done it for half price.

My mom and her sisters and brother when they were kids would get their baby tooth tied to a string to a doorknob and then their dad or mom would slam the door.

4K for a root canal. Focking outrageous.

I’m in the same boat.  I’m cheap when it comes to spending money on this kind of stuff.  I’m riding the wave using a dental pick after every meal.  Eventually it’s getting ripped out but to hell with a crown on a tooth that is out of sight.

Man I literally had a hole in my tooth. Not a cavity. A piece of my molar broke off while I was eating and it left it hollowed out basically. At 48 this is the first time I have ever had to do a tooth extraction and for the MOST part it went really well. Just that tiny part he likely did not see because he had to drill it out instead of pulling it.

Same here.  Broke right off somehow.  I guess after 50 years of use things can break.
