Roll the dice

Recommended Posts

Have Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, and Geno Smith on my roster. Looked like the strongest part of my roster at the beginning of the year. Now its just a roll of the dice to determine which one I should play each week. Oh well. Thats why I love/hate fantasy football.

Is this a league that you start two QBs, or is it a superflex league, if not I don’t understand why one would draft three single digit round qbs.

By doing so, you sacrifice any depth at rb/wr.

Just a very old league. I estimate 35 plus years. Basic scoring. We score the same as the players. Rules always required that we have 3 quarterbacks on the roster. Only play one. No flex.

Perhaps you can trade one ... Mahomes lost his weapons ..., Murray lost Marvin Jr for a couple weeks ... Guess it's a good problem to have but paw is  right should of drafted a couple  RB or WR's  1-2 good qb's then good RB ,wr then later on couple scrub qb's

Tell you one thing I noticed. Mahomes and Trevor Lawrence ( yuk) have eerily similar stats at this juncture of the season.

I kind of got the same problem in my two leagues.  I kept both Burrow and Stroud (one in each league) to be my starters and then drafted Bacon Mayfield as my back up in both.  Its hard to bench a top level QB for Baker Mayfield but at the level he's playing I keep kicking myself for not starting him.

Little difference is that your in a keeper league.  But yea starting the right one is always best

well, now that the season has started, it no longer matters who was drafted where.

its now about dealing with what you got.    I do think Mahomes is a keep.   if the team gets healthy I think he will put up numbers again.    Geno I was never fully sold on so hes the guy I'd trade away.   Kyler murray may be a bit of a headcase but I think he still has the ability to turn it on.   he may also be a hold unless someone makes a nice offer.

I think it still matters to many, many will complain about players they drafted with early rd picks.  I would keep Geno.

complain or not, at this point the players who produce are the ones who are worth keeping.

for Mahomes I'm willing to cut him some slack.  hes done nothing but win, and now half his WR are injured and out.    right now if you sell, you are selling at the low point.  no point cutting bait.  I dont think his value sinks lower.  might as well ride it out.

Depends, he still might be a worth a bigger return to the right owner.   Point was with the OP, no need to draft three single digit round qbs and sacrifice depth at wr/rb, it’s a point that you missed.

hey there are always some who will buy him based on history and reputation.

I just said I'd cut him some slack myself.

but cutting him some slack when hes already on your roster is a bit different than paying full price for an underperforming player (even if the reason for the underperformance is rather apparent)

but you are right.  some likely will still pay a decent amount for the guy.    If targetting him for a buy low, now is likely the time.   Myself I'd consider buying,  but I'd want a discount.

I’ll pass. I drafted Mayfield on both of my teams, but I could use a back up like Mahomes when Mayfield has his bye.

Mmm Mahomes isn’t ff worthy, great nfl Qb, But not worthy of starting on a ff team.
