Mike FF Today 709 Posted November 4 Some players (former and current) were all over social media yesterday expressing their distaste for the current situation in New Orleans. Today, a coaching change has been made... https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1853451432709517435 The #Saints have fired coach Dennis Allen after a humbling loss to the #Panthers, per me and @MikeGarafolo.

Showboat 247 Posted November 4 “Dennis has been part of our organization for many years. He is highly regarded within the NFL. He has been extremely loyal and professional and most importantly an excellent football coach for us. All of this makes today very tough for me and our organization,” Saints owner Gayle Benson said in a statement. “DA is an excellent football coach,” G.M. Mickey Loomis said in a statement. “This season, we have had an avalanche of injuries. It took its toll. DA has never offered excuses, he fought each day for this organization and this team and that is what makes today disappointing. Dennis has been an integral part of this organization’s success for the better part of 20 years. He will be missed.” These quotes make no sense. They fire a guy who they claim is a highly regarded and an excellent coach who will be missed? Is that the definition of a dysfunctional organization (we have a great coach, but have experienced a rough patch, so let's hire someone worse to really drive the team into the ditch)? It seems like he is the scapegoat only because you can't fire the owner. It is only a "tough" and "disappointing" day for the organization because the owner is apparently incompetent.
