One begets the other. You can see just based on the posting here what the sentiment is like on the right. Lots of confidence Trump will win, lots of believers in a rigged election in 2020 and again this year. Trump will never concede and there will always be people that believe his lies.

I do hope you're right, though. A couple peaceful months leading up to the inauguration would be a welcome surprise.

Specifically I think there is a greater chance of targeted violence from the right than from the left. Like threats toward election workers, ballot counters, electors, that sort of thing.

I think there is a difference between an attempt and a plot.  Where that line is drawn, I'm not exactly sure.  There have been numerous attempts/plots on multiple Presidents.  Biden, Obama and Clinton would be on that list.
