2-8 no reason to risk further injury when shoulder surgery is needed ... Glad I didn't wait on qb's during draft day

I play in a 2 QB league, so you need 3 QB's at a minimum.  Well, on the off chance I was wrong about Lawrence being a bad, I took him as my 3rd QB.  Well, after realizing that he had the same bye week as Joe Burrow, I tried to trade Lawrence.  After a few failed attempts, I was able to get Mayfield.  That turned out quite well.

I kinda screwed up loading up on qb's I planned on trading one to a desperate owner but didn't realize we aren't allowed to trade draft picks ahwell at least I got QB depth

Why is that?  Burrow was one of the later QB1's drafted,  Daniels, Purdy, Mayfield...  Cousins and Goff have been good for anyone who really decided to go "no QB" strategy.  Bo Nix now has more FPPG than Mahomes.   Seems like your typical year. A few highly drafted busts (Mahomes, Stroud relatively speaking)  and a few late gems.

If you're in a re-draft league, yeah, not surprised you couldn't trade draft picks.  If you're in a keeper or dynasty league, that seems odd that you couldn't do trade picks.  That said, I never load up on QB's to trade them.  There's a finite amount of good ones and injuries happen.  The only way I'd trade them is if I were out of the playoff hunt and was selling off for the next season.

All I know is hurts & burrow got me over 70 points last week and sum people are saying to wait for double digit rounds to draft a qb

I had Tua, but even before his concussion, the offense didn't look quite right to me, so I dropped him and ended up with a combination of Fields and Darnold, and now Russell Wilson/Darnold.

I'm holding it together with duct tape and bubblegum because I know the wheels are going to come off on Darnold and I'm not sure if I can trust DangeRuss.

well, putting a round # on it is always silly as it depends on your league and your draft.  Burrow was the 8th-9th QB off the board in many of my leagues. He was a target of mine if he fell to a certain point. In one league where he was the 8th QB off the board, he narrowly missed me in round 6, where I likely would have picked him.   Daniels was 11th-13th roughly. Purdy was in the 11-15 range.  Cousins and Goff were probably double digit round guys drafted as backups. Mayfield was undrafted in some.

It's all relative and I don't see any reason why "waiting" at QB this year was any different than prior years.

well, so far so good.  you are most of the way through the season.

but I hate stressing over QB.   so I usually just draft a set it and forget it  type a little earlier.   I'm generally pretty decent at getting serviceable WR/RB late in the draft.

but white Wonder (below) actually laid it out well.   in my one draft I didnt have a whole lot of auction dollars so I bought in on Goff and hes been decent.   got Cousins in another league of mine and hes also been decent.   so there are always options,  but when going zero QB  once the QB start going, you need to jump on the train or you end up with someone below that level.   its a fine line some years.

Yeah, I'm not a fan.  Look, he's "ok", but that's all he is.  He has a ton of talent/weapons around him making him better than what he is.  He's no different than Lawrence, Tua, Hurts, Carr, Jones, Dak, and like 10 other guys... he's a competent QB whom, under the right conditions can help the team be competitive.  Outside of Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, and Burrow, virtually every QB either falls into this category or the "flat out sucks" category like Bryce Young, Justin Fields, or Deshaun Watson.  To pay ANY of those guys more than $20 to $25M AAV is just wasting money.

He was actually my last chance too.  I tried to get Purdy, Carr, Nix, & Wilson before Mayfield and those people all said "No".  The guy who had Mayfield jumped at the chance to make the trade.  LOL   It was a straight up offer too.  Funny thing is I drafted Lawrence before all those other guys.

Never have I seen a season that was better for drafting a Qb late.  13 Qbs currently have a better ppg then ff over rated Qb Mahomes

and Lawrence has a better ppg then these over priced qbs.

Goff

Stroud

Rodgers

Herbert

Tua

Richardson

C Williams.

These players have a higher ppg then the over ranked Mahomes

Mayfield

Burrow

Purdy

Love

G Smith

J Daniels

Murry

Darnold

Tua went after Lawrence in my draft.  How was he overpriced?

Usually there is a dead zone in the draft where I'll take the best QB available.  It's usually in rounds 4, 5, 6, or 7.  This year I didn't really see a zone where the value just wasn't there except maybe the end of the second.

And this is where weepaws is coming to come in and say he drafted someone awesome in the second.  I get it, weepaws.

4,5,6,7, great for rb/wr depth, wrong, you don’t get it.  Sad.

Weepaws, what I'm saying is sometimes it's clear and obvious none of the players in a specific range of the draft are going to be good.  That allows for you to register in some cases from a standard strategy.  This is a rather advanced way of thinking.  I can explain it to you in more detail when I get more time.

Hopefully it was clear the great point I made, been teaching for a long time now, time to grow.  Thanks.

Weepaws, if you could get the exact same team and also have Burrow, or draft a wr or RB a round early and end up with a QB like Trevor Lawrence, which one is better?  That's rhetorical.  I know you won't even understand the question.

You've got a decent grasp on the basics...  Rote memorization with no understanding of why you do what you do.  Simply learned through trial and error.  When you ascend to a higher understanding, you will realize this.  I'm afraid, for now, you are yet to achieve the skill necessary to understand the concept I am explaining.  That's okay.  Your strategy is a fine way for a novice to play, and can certainly win.  Not everyone needs to be elite.

Tua was priced based on last years stats.

but people I think forgot to add the risk premium for the possibility he has another concussion (which he did)

I get it.... people look at last years numbers and think How do I pass this guy over?       well, now you know the answer to that.

His 16 ppg during last seasons last six games told me to stay far away.

Most ADP had Tua going before Lawrence.  Not by much.

I drafted Mayfield, I’m winning with my double digit round Qb.  Indeed

The Jags & Pederson are complete done. Bigsby & Thomas are two wasted big talents, what a couch fire. At least there was the Pats game in London.

Bigsby is always on the injury list, and Thomas is marching on with his injury.
