Stop.

On January 6, 2016, former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Mike Piazza was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame, receiving a vote on 83% of the ballots. But give him two more decent seasons and he should end up with stats similar to a Gary Carter. I stated the question because of Salvy, but you guys might listen to the question better had I left a Royals player's name out. What are there, 18 catchers in the HOF? Most, the typical common fan wouldn't even recognize the names of. Pudge, Piazza and Mauer are probably the only players most people today can remember playing the game. That feels light, and I was just asking is it because they don't get the recognition they deserve or because there aren't that many catchers deserving of the honor? Gepetto 1,183 Posted yesterday at 02:32 AM I think Yadier Molina and Salvador Perez deserve HOF, however, not really the time to talk about them. Salvy is still playing. Molina is not on the ballot. Can't we just focus on 2025 HOF. Billy Wagner Ichiro Suzuki Andruw Jones CC Sabathia Those are my predictions. I'm seeing that those 4 along with Chase Utley and Carlos Beltran are all on a path to get inducted this year, however to me 6 in one year seems unlikely. Hardcore troubadour 14,005 Posted yesterday at 02:40 AM I’m not putting A Jones in. Another really good not great player.
cmh6476 906 Posted yesterday at 02:57 AM Ichiro, CC and Wagner might be it. I think Beltran will eventually get in but might take another year or two and wear a Mets cap Just guesses because I have no clue.

Chase Utley has no business being in any HoF discussion. He is a white Lou Whitaker minus the Gold Gloves. For the record Whitaker isnt a HoF IMO but i dont consider it the Hall of Pretty Good. It really was the realization that catchers aren't well represented. I mean if you are a perennial all star (the top at your position year after year) don't you think that should merit consideration? Molina deserves to be in but his will be a drawn out process. And a guy like posada can't even stay on the ballot for a 2nd year.
