A bazillion things have changed in our society in the past several decades. As a science person, this is an unfounded conclusion on the surface. The onus is on you to show that they cause autism, and/or to rule out all other possible causes. I will add that for a long time, my wife (also an engineer) and I have joked that we've always had people on the autism spectrum, they just went into tech fields. We've worked with a bunch of them. In other words, it's possible that a good number of the increases in autism are due to a hyper awareness of it, and/or over diagnosis. 1

From a Google search: Autism rates have increased due to a number of factors, including: Increased awareness Public education, media representation, and advocacy have led to greater recognition of autism symptoms and behaviors. This has resulted in more children being identified and receiving support at an earlier age. Improved diagnostic capabilities Clinicians are better at identifying autism, which requires substantial training in observational techniques. Biological factors Older parents, particularly older fathers, may increase the risk of autism. Children born prematurely are also at an increased risk, and more premature infants are surviving now than ever before. Environmental factors Air pollution, low birth weight, and stress may also be contributing to the increase in diagnoses.

Sean Mooney 1,776 Posted Tuesday at 10:59 PM Vaccines do not cause autism. It is most likely a rise because mediciene has a better handle on what autism is and thus it is diagnosed more often- perhaps too much. Here is an article: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5789217/ None of the studies done have shown any link between vaccines and autism. But I guess it shows that man or woman- if a beautiful blonde chick with huge tells you something- people will believe anything

Death 89 Posted Wednesday at 03:07 AM 4 hours ago, Frozenbeernuts said: If not, explain the insane rise in autistic children. I have an autistic child, and there hasn't be a rise in the number of autistic children. There has been an increase in diagnoses thanks to research and increased knowledge, leading to identifying autistic children who would not have been so 40 or so years ago. Autism itself is a wide spectrum that stretches from Rain Man on one end to Elon Musk, Einstein, Bill Gates and Mozart on the other. And autism resides on an even wider spectrum called pervasive development disorder, which also includes asperger's. The theory of vaccines causing autism were debunked decades ago.

HT is lying in that he thinks I was making fun of him when I asked him if he was autistic. I asked because I was curious based on his posting style. Lying- It's what he does. It's because he desperately wants me to fook him and I won't. He makes up stories then on top of it. Give him another post or two and the story about the DMs will keep changing. What he won't tell you is- it was a conversation between the two of us in private messages. He said something, I said something back. It isn't as if I sent 17 DMs in a row without being prompted. Now he changed it to 17 times in an hour- which isn't true. Give him another post or two and it will be 25 posts in an hour or some other nonsense. I have receipts on the DMs He is a guy who cries about me "following him around on here" when I post about him on the board and yet even though I haven't really talked or engaged with him for like 2 months or so he still has to bring me up. And just to show- I'm done mentioning him here in this thread. He won't be able to stop himself. 1

Refuses to back it up/claims he never made the statement. 3.) Gets proven wrong with actual facts. 4.) Dismisses the information source/gish gallops into another subject to redirect the conversation. 5.) Lather, rinse, repeat. He claims Rusty is pro-World War I but doesn't back it up. Who the hell is pro-World War I? What does that even mean?

Post some other nonsense trying to pretend like he is a better person than another poster 6.) Return to step 1 It's more fun to just skip past his posts though now and watch how much he brings me up. TheNewGirl 1,180 Posted Wednesday at 04:22 PM IMO, they learned more about it and expanded the criteria for diagnosis to include more individuals. It's also a spectrum, so there are varying degrees. I've met a LOT of those on spectrum and they seem just like normal people, then I've met others who clearly have a disability.
