The Dan Jones era is over

Talk on local sports radio about signing him to the Eagles practice squad. DJ is toolsy. Maybe a well run organization could turn him into something.

If he signs on a practice squad just cut his balls off

The Giants just had him playing scout team safety.

I read that he’s due a chunk of salary if a team claims him off waivers and he’s more likely on a practice squad for financial reasons, but I’m unsure how that works.

I’d love to see Dallas sign him and start him on Thanksgiving.

my thoughts exactly!

I've always liked Danny Dimes and think he's got potential.

I'd prefer him and get rid Rush, Lance & Grier

If Baker Mayfield can be reborn, maybe dimes can too?

If Stafford doesn't get hurt, he is still a backup.

I'm not a Dimes hater at all. He's been in a piss poor situation from day one, just like The Saquon was. Daboll has no business being a head coach and the owner is a disgrace.

I hope he gets on with a stable team

I’d take Dimes as a backup over Kenny Pickett. He already has experience handing off to Saquon.

No doubt but why would he take a backup job now? It would make no sense to do anything now, assuming he'll clear waivers, which he will.

Because his best shot to revive his career long-term is to catch on as a backup with a good organization. I don’t think starting for another dumpster fire like the Raiders or Jags does much for him.

Hey, I'm all for bringing him in as a backup but he has almost zero chance of playing in Philly, ever.

DJ wouldn’t be coming here to compete for a starting role. He’d come here to learn how to be a functional QB with the hopes of spot starting at some point. Half the league has already started a QB this year.

If DJ thinks he’s going to win a starting job with a team like LV or Jax and look good doing it he’s sorely mistaken. Jones is broke right now.

Idk where you and worms think hes actually going to start for a team.  He was a bottom of the barrel guy so far.   Why would crap franchises who need a QB want to run him out for a year?   At the very most one of those teams drafts a QB who is raw and they want to sit while Jones plays 6 games until fans yell for the rookie.

Like MDC said, his best bet is backing up a guy on a team with a solid offensive staff.  If you go in for injury you have a chance to prove yourself.  If you sit for 2 years maybe you just improve.

Going somewhere to be a starter seems like a pipe dream.  Maybe I am wrong.  But no idea why any team would pick him up and try to start him.  There is a very limited amount of jobs open.  Those that are open will draft a QB high.  I suppose he could be a bridge QB fot a team not in position to draft one.

Look what Levis showed yesterday.   Why would thr Titans just give up on him after 2 years?   Worms is naming off the colts and cowboys.   Its bizarre.  Raiders, Jets, ....thats about the end of the list unless Stafford retires.  They will draft a QB.

Danny Dimes signs with the Vikings. He won’t start, but that’s a pretty good situation as a backup hoping to revive his career.

Yea, that's a great spot for the rest of this year for him to be QB2 and the Vikings needed an upgrade there as well.

I want DD to win the superbowl with the Vikes so John Mara will feel further humiliation. That’s where I’m at.

It is an ideal landing spot for both team and player.. As a Lions fan, I'm not happy about it at all.

That's okay, the Lions have plenty of other things going their way. I'm sure you'll manage.

I didn't watch a ton of football yesterday, but I did see some of the Lions pregame. There was a segment about how likable the Lions are, and the guy narrating it said something like "even Bear, Packer, and Viking fans like this team." And he's right. I wish the Lions all the best unless they're playing the Vikes. That last game might decide the division and maybe even home field in the playoffs.

The national hype train is really starting to roll, everyone is loving on the Lions right now. Enjoy it while it lasts!

The Lions need to keep home field advantage. There's no chance that Goff wins outdoors in Philly in January.

It's really scary how shredded the defense is. Aaron Glenn has needed magic pixiedust and miracles to hold things together. That formula didn't much work against the Bears in the second half. Long term injuries have top four DEs to start the year are all hurt as are our #1, 3, 4, and 5 linebackers. Cornerbacks, while none long term, have been a slew of injuries, guys in and out.

Za'Darrius Smith has been a refreshing glass of lemonade. He was our trade deadline DE pickup that discombobulated the Bears' comeback with his sack on the second-to-last play of the game, screwing up their clock management planning. And then opposite him, Allah bless this guy, Al-Quad Muhammid, has come out of nowhere and been a pretty solid at DE for two games now getting meaningful snaps. This dude's spent six years bouncing around the league off-and-on practice squads, fortunately among the stops was New Orleans when Dan Campbell was there. I don't know if Cinderella's slipper is going to remain in place with him.

The linebacker room went from our deepest position to shallow now with Rodrigo out. It is now missing our 1,3,4, and 5 linebackers, all hurt long term. These LBs out there besides Jack Campbell, I don't even know. Nowaski's been a special teamer but the others (Long, Nieman, Turner) are all practice squaders.

The only consistency we've had is safety and DTs.

The O's been healthier and should carry the team. There's a significant dropoff, obviously, from Decker to Skipper whenever he's been out of the lineup. Can't be fumbling at the 3 yard line or taking dumbass Jamo penalties. Special teams has been solid but now we've lost Kalif on returns as well.
