Too bad Manfred and company have ruined MLB with the rule changes the past five years or so…

However, baseball is still the best game on the planet…

I could google it, but why are we in a delay in Toronto? Aren't they in a dome?

Opening Day Ceremony?  I am sure you heard of these…

They do that for pretty much everything now with the PBP…

But you will watch golf for 5-6 hours?

Something doesn’t seem right there…

You dont like ANY of them? The ones resulting in shorter games are appreciated.

Didn’t have an issue with the length of the games…. Didn’t want to go to the park and spend all that money to see a game end in 2:10 or so…. It should be a relaxing day in the sun enjoying it…

This has been a topic before. Besides expanding playoffs which is inevitable in all sports I have liked all the changes baseball (Manfred) has put in. Gone off smoothly and improved the game.

Devers on Boston is just DH now. Has a pair of meat hooks for hands in the field so makes sense after getting Bregman. Dude looks pretty puffy already. Going to look like late Bartolo Colon soon.

That definitely puts you in the minority.  The game was dying on the vine with young people. Blame the times, society, etc but shorter games are in the sports best interest.

I know…. A lot of people want instant results, which is why social media is successful…. Still doesn’t mean and instant gratification is a good thing…

I mean watching a dude step out of the box and adjust his jock, his gloves and his elbow pad armor thing every pitch was not needed.

Pitch clock is seamless and a great add.

Time is too short…. Maybe add 10-15 seconds…

With the pitch stuff being called by tech now, that will speed it up some, but 15 or 18 seconds is too fast…

In the 70s, a 2:10 game was typical, and it was just fine. I like the rules to speed up the game, especially the pitch clock.

Although I hate the runner on 2nd rule. This ain't girls youth softball.

The pitch clock would be okay if they extended both by five seconds or so…

I could live with it if they changed or got rid of the following:

  • Allow the shift
  • Increase throw overs to first to four attempts
  • Git rid of three batter minimum
  • The ghost runner to start extra innings doesn't start until the 12th inning
  • Kill the DH in the NL, but that won't happen unfortunately
  • Drop the limits on mound visits
  • Get rid of the "Ohtani Rule"

There may be others…

what problem do you have with the ohtani rule?  The Royals believe Michael Lorenzen might be able to hit well enough that they could play him in the OF.  There's some interesting strategy that could be had if you can move a guy between an OF and P position if you find a guy competent enough who can handle it.

I think one guy should only count for one guy on a 26 man roster :dunno:

Maybe I'm not understanding it right.  Do you not like that he can continue to DH in a lineup after being removed as a pitcher?

I have zero issue with this.  If he can pitch and hit, he still counts as one player.

Man I like all these changes. The extra inning rule I could go either way but I get it.

Only complaint I have is why teams have off today and the season starting in Japan or Korea in the middle of the night.

MLB always has given an off day or two during the first couple of weeks of the season...  Not sure why...

The day off after opening day is in case weather cancels the game.   You don't want to screw people out of premium opening day tickets.

Yankees homer on first 3 pitches of game for first time in MLB history

Judge 3/4 3 homers 7 rbi, end of 4th inning lol

Back in the old days, Judge would have one thrown at him first…
