Bears fire Eberflus

Bummer, I was enjoying watching the creative ways he found to lose.

I know Bears fans think hes a genius.  But it was always wild to me that Poles would pick a QB 1 overall, rehaul the team, then keep Flus who I would assume he knew he didnt want long term.  Its such a silly thing to do and they dont seem to learn.

Im supposed to be going to the 9ers Bills Sunday nighter.  Big weather through Orchard Park.  Not exactly sure where snow bands will be come Sunday evening.  But they are getting about 4 feet of snow in total by Monday AM.

The Bears last four losses to playoff teams were all so close and so painful. The worst two being the Hail Mary against the Redskins or the blocked kick vs the Pack, but the fight back to force overtime vs the Vikings and the clock mismanagement vs the Lions would normally also be top shelf painful if not for the first two.

This is like Scott Mitchell era Lions, except they beat all the good teams in the regular season (especially the 90s Cowboys)  then blew enough games vs lower tier competition to enter the playoffs on the road and lose in the first round.

Lived through all of the modern dynasties, remember them well. Steelers, 49’rs, Cowboys and Patriots. This Chief one doesn’t come close to them. Hell, even some of the mini ones like the Broncos and the 80’s Giants would wipe the floor with them. Peyton Mannings Colts would as well.

Took the wife out for Black Friday shopping and saw on the phone that the Chiefs won.

It was only just now learned how. Poor Raiders. They discovered something the Bears hadn't come up with yet. Very Scott Mitchellesque.

A good amount of snow leading up.  But game conditions shouldnt be too bad for 9ers Buffalo.

Nice drive so far for the Cardinals.

Rooting for Arizona to beat the Vikings but afraid, this will wind up like almost every other NFC North vs NFC West game this year. Thank You Rams for beating Minnesota, but the rest of these teams haven't been any help at all. Hopefully Arizona changes that today.

Go Cards!

:wall:

Nice drive backwards topped off with a missed FG. Stop gift-wrapping this game.

Cards were definitely the better team in that first half. Too bad they ran out of time to try for the TD on that last drive but at least they are up by three going into the break. Hopefully they don't blow this.

Another Field Goal. Alright. Don't let these bumbling idiots who've done nothing on offense against you all day and richly deserve to lose, come back and score a TD with this last gasp drive.

Dear God, you suck at life, Arizona.

Three time outs and 1:13 left. You need a 6th FG. Just get in FG range again, idiots.

Maybe forget about the Packers and Vikings and just root for your team…. Wanting the others to lose makes it seem you have zero faith in Detroit…

The first time being relevant in 30 years definitely turned Lions fans into the Chiefs fans of the NFC

The Lions D is shredded with injuries. It'd be nice to rest the injured against the Vikings in week 17 and then get the bye as well. Focktarded chokers like the Cardinals might have helped give some breathing room but are too incompetent to pull an easy W.

I understand that but if the Lions take care of business when they need to, they will be fine…

They have been able to thus far, and can, but the room for error is zero. The O will have to carry the team more than they have been. There's four more games to earn the bye and to to rest the injured in week 17. They need to get by the Packers (especially) since a loss to the Packers slides the tiebreaker over to Philly due to mutual opponent. Then the Bills, Bears on the road, and 49ers on the road.

The Packers are good, the Bills great. The Bears are a lot better than their record, and the 49ers would be the best team in the NFC West if they weren't as similarly banged up as Detroit..

You got to give Volty a break, he has a lifetime of experience of the Lions not TCOB.

Probably weren't too many watching this game, but brutal hit on Trevor Lawrence led to a brawl.

JaMo can be immature, making dumb decisions on and off the field.

I just saw the replays on this. Link below. If you were wondering why JaMo tossed the ball at the guy's face. he was pissed off because he had just been deliberately tripped on the sideline and fell down. When you're stumbling around off balance, most players will reach out and grab you to help stabilize you, even if you wear the other colors, this guy did the opposite and stuck out his leg.  It's just like hockey when the sneaky instigator doesn't get caught but the overreacting retaliator does.

Obviously, the mentality you have to have is that of the rock on the beach. The tide hits you, it hits you again and again and you just take it and take it some more and don't let it bother you. Hopefully the ref eventually sees it and calls it next time. Jamo though has a reputation for being prone to stupid, deservedly so. and is able to be goaded into taking immature retaliation penalties. The Lions were in a good situation and had this game in hand seemingly but this was a costly loss of possession. Almost lost the game.

There's going to be jerks acting like jerks on the other side and if they can goad you into a drive killing 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, they will. Of all the Lions, Jamo is the most immature and a bit of a punk-ass himself, his job is to suck it up and not retaliate when this happens. The gambling suspension, the PED suspension, the possession of an unregistered firearm, this retaliation penalty. there's kind of a pattern where, if a Lion does something stupid, there's an 80% chance it's Jamo and a 20% chance its one of the rest of the team.

I think people are overreacting to the Lawrence hit.   Do you flag the guy then fine him?  Sure in today's game.  The overwhelming outcry of how dirty it was, it a bit much.  Those things will happen whrn you focking teach QB to get in a tobaggan with their head straight up in the air whilr a guys flying at you trying yo make a tackle.  They literally teach QBs to go into thr most defenseless position possible.

If Lawrence simply puts 2 arms around thr ball and braces for a tackle....he gets up and plays thr next play.  Instead thry teach them to go into an extreme defenseless position and hope they didnt slide too late.

If we want to protect QBs and they want protection thrn they have to do their part.  Instead QBs tey to squeeze every last inch out of a run and slide.  A guy like Mahomes runs towards sideline, defenders slow thrn he tippy toes for 8 more more yards.  Its ridiculous.   You want protection?  Quit playing games.
