Week 14 QB Fill-in

Recommended Posts

Week 14 bye weeks coming.  Have Russell Wilson set to face the Browns.
Now the Aiden O'Connell back and will face the TB def which is 31st against QBs, thinking he might be a viable start.

They will be behind and need to throw a lot.  He did well against the Chiefs.

 Any opinions?

Wilson.

Wilson isnt bad in week 14.  it does look like the Browns may have thrown in the towel.   biggest concern there is that if Wilson gets to an early lead, the garbage time fantasy points will all go to the RB.    wilson is for sure the better player.......O'connell on the other hand is facing an offense that is at least competent.    and even if Oconnell isnt great, the Tampa D will likely make him look halfway decent.  and if Tampa scores on offense,   it is even possible that this could turn into a shootout.    if that comes to pass this is fantasy gold.

Wilson is the safer pick.  and if all you need is a QB who doesnt put up a dud because your fantasy team is looking better than your opponent, hes your play.

if you are facing a team ahead of you in the standings and looks like they will beat you..... then you need a hail mary, and O'connell is your high risk, high reward pick.

Hes not nearly as safe.  his floor will be lower than Wilsons floor, but this week I'd say his ceiling is likely higher if the shootout scenario comes to pass.

Thanks, for the opinions.  I most likely need the win to secure a 1st rd bye.

Don’t want Russell in a snow bowl like they had in Cleveland last weekend, I may gamble on O’Connell playing in TB.
