I'm interested to hear what the Liberals take is on this. Apparently George Clooney is taking a lot of heat for pushing Biden to resign. He's now saying that Barrack Obama made him do it so that Barrack wouldn't look like the traitor.

IMHO, Biden and Obama knew Kamala was totally inept and worthless and would have a difficult time winning.  I am certain the Obama had one or two candidates in mind (none of which were Kamala) who Obama would anoint at the convention.  But once Kamala was anointed by Biden there was  no way to switch without dividing the party.   Biden was really pissed he was forced out.

I do agree with this. They knew they were going to lose. The headwinds were too strong.

Thats why Kamala actually did pretty well, considering. I thought she was going to be a huge flop because she was fockin awful in the 2020 primary. But she did pretty well considering the degree of difficulty, which surprised me. Yeah she lost, but it wasn’t a bloodbath

This is a good read. Biden tied the Dems hands by insisting on running again and requiring to be forcibly dragged off of the campaign. The coup plotters wanted a quick primary to shunt aside Harris but were stuck with her because bypassing their DEI BIPOC diversity hire vice president for somebody actually talented/qualified goes against their party's most deeply held religious beliefs.

Now, if she runs again in 2028,  there's an actual track record of failure since otherwise claims of 'only bigots and misogynists could oppose her' would terrify and bully her spineless colleagues into backing her. This gives them an excuse to bump her aside.
