NFL Week 18 & Fantasy Irrelevance

Recommended Posts

Not the best formatting but I'm on my phone.   Might clean up later IDK.   Some interesting lines and playoff storylines. Really excited about the SNF game.   And the Carson Wentz audition for an opportunity to start next year and end the Broncos playoff hopes this year.   And isn't it black Monday a week from today? I'm sure people will be fired...

I like that the lions are good, but i hate all the primetime games. Give me 1 pm or the occasional 4 pm sinday games.  Also, get off my lawn

I thoroughly enjoy the value you get a season ticket holder when games don't start at noon on Sunday.

each week I watch the Vikings, the more I believe that Darnold is a damn good player and there are NFL organizations that have driven good talent straight into the ground,

No wonder guys like Elway and Eli didn't want to play for crap franchises.

Jacobs said he wants to play and will but realistically wont get the carries hes been getting.  I hope the Packers play guys enough.  Not necessarily to win although 6th seend is better than thr 7th in the NFC.  But the Skins should take care of their business anyway.

Packers arent playing well enough for a run.  They need to find some momentum going in.

A bye at this point in the season seems so much more beneficial than playing to go to a place like Houston, rather than Baltimore.  If you're in the playoffs you shpuld have a chance to beat either team, and going in closer to 100% healthy gives you a much better shot than going in 90-95% healthy.

Its team dependent in my eyes.  Injuries suck but are apart of the game.  If a star saftey gets hurt it does nothing to the betting line.  Hell if both starting safties get hurt it may not move the line.  Of course a QB or a stud WR.  Or a LT.  Or a guy like Chris Jones move it.

No ones 100% healthy even after a bye week.  Sit the guys that need to get healthy.  Simple.

Again its team dependent.   The way the Texans have been playing, id want them to go out and play and find something.  A team like the Chiefs or Bills?  Nah.

As for the Packers, they need to find some momentum with the passing game.  I want them to play.

And I agree you cant sit there and be picky on matchups.  Its much more about momentum.

I get that.   A guy like Josh jacobs? I think giving him a week off to come back in the wild card with fresh legs is definitely reason to keep him out tomorrow.

People get tired of other teams that win a lot.  It kind of is what it is.

Yea I agree.  Im fine with a lead back not carrying it a ton for no reason.  Id like to see Love out there for extended time if not the whole game.

I guess they really want to play the Texans, rather than the Ravens.   I guess that makes sense but I still think a semi-bye is under appreciated here.

I think the Bengals are a bad matchup for anyone.   Thankfully they'll likely be watching from home.

Did the Vikings really spend a bunch of money on the secondary market to source tickets for their fans?

The Minnesota Vikings found an effective but expensive way this week to increase their in-stadium presence during Sunday night's winner-take-all NFC North matchup with the Detroit Lions.

The team purchased roughly 1,900 tickets near the Ford Field visitor's bench on the secondary market, ESPN confirmed Saturday, at a cost of roughly $1,000 per ticket -- or just under $2 million in total. The Vikings then offered them to team-based stakeholders at a cost that ranged from $200-$300 per ticket, ESPN confirmed.

In a statement, the Vikings said: "Given the uniqueness of this game, we wanted to offer our stakeholders -- staff, family, season ticket members and team partners -- an opportunity to attend."

I'm not as interested in watching redzone, without any fantasy implications.  My broadcast options are bills/ pats and packers/ bears.   I'd rather watch the nfc south matchups that have some playoff implications.   Guess I'll just stick with red zone

Why is Joe Mixon in the game? Houston really doesn't have anything to play for.

Just to give the starters some reps…. They will probably treat it like an exhibition game and they will probably play no more than a half or so, but maybe only a quarter…

Great plan until someone gets hurt then you don't get to use them next week.
