Yeah I was in Amsterdam over the summer. My father in law decided to take the whole family (13 of us) to see the Christmas markets (thankfully we missed the one that got hit). Munich, Nuremberg, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest. A cruise ship on the Danube. Awesome trip. I’d never been to any of these cities. Gorgeous buildings, great food.

Thanks. Ive looked a little into those Danube cruises, definitely on the list. We've got a niece that lives in Duesseldorf who we would visit as part of it.

2. Hungarian Langos (fry bread) with cheese and garlic

I'm assuming this was with Viking River Cruises?

We loved the one that sailed down the Rhine.  Will need to consider this Christmas one for someday.

I’ve been chasing the long sausage on the short crusty roll I had there over here and can’t find nothing like it. The potato pancakes are awesome  and the melt cheese they spread on the bread was simple but so delicious. Did you try the Gluhwein, warm mulled wine, I hated it but my wife loved it?

Yeah the mulled wine was OK. Kept me warm. There was a hot punch that I preferred.

we are discussing a trip for our 30th next year... either a late summer/fall trip to the italian/french/spanish rivieras, or a winter trip to Switzerland/austria.

As much as I enjoyed this trip, the Italian Riviera (Amalfi Coast) is still the best place in Europe I’ve been to.
