Was Frontier Airlines racist to Khabib?

one sign this is likely a lie: they’re claiming they offered him an UPGRADED seat?  When was the last time an airline (especially Frontier) offered someone an upgraded seat for allegedly not understanding the exit row instructions?

Devil's advocate: exit row seats are often treated as being a premium seat.  Not sure the policy on Frontier since I've never flown with them.

Yep. I would guess they have an “upgrade” section, not 1st Class, which is the same shitty seat as rest of cattle in coach but with like 3 inches of extra legroom that you pay to get. Exit Row is considered premium.

Without the video, I don’t know what to believe.  But I think @Patented Phil is foolish to automatically believe Frontier 100%.

Here’s what we know from the video we do have which indicates racism may have been involved:

-Khabib was not acting aggressively

-Khabib was speaking English and said he could help.

-In that part of the video the flight attendant didn’t clarify why she was asking him to move, only that “it was up to their judgement”

In addition, we know that Khabib is a celebrity so is likely no stranger to flying.  How much he flies commercial maybe we don’t know, but I’d be surprised if he doesn’t know what an exit row is.  I guess it’s possible he didn’t hear her initially or something.

Hey dipshitt - what’s more likely?

a) The flight attendant saw through his Russian accent and somehow figured out that he was a Muslim with a pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel history.

b) The flight attendant gave him instructions and didn’t get the verbal confirmation she needed that he understood everything.

Tell you what - don’t answer.  Just quit.  Quit the whole damn discussion forum thing.  It ain’t your gig.

I never said anything about Israel or Palestine or being Muslim.  I just think she heard his accent and thought that meant he didn’t understand English.

Here’s another video, other passengers say the flight attendant phrased it as a statement and not a question (although the guy saying “he speaks another language” is dumb).   I was wrong about one thing though, they did actually offer him another “upgraded” seat (looks like @thegeneral called it as it probably just had 3 more inches of legroom).

And you think the bolded makes it “racist”?  It’s literally the federal law that if you sit in that row you must be able to speak and understand English, and the flight crew must be comfortable with you being able and willing to comply and cooperate.  This new video completely exonerates the crew.  So yeah, call me a bootlicker but I was right the whole time.

Don’t ever call yourself a Moderate again.  You’re a Leftist hack with your “everything is racism” pearl clutching.  Divisive crap like that has done a lot of damage to the country.

Not confirmed it’s what happened here, but thinking someone doesn’t understand English because they have an accent is absolutely racist, that’s not even a question.

How does that video completely exonerate the crew?

Yell “Allahu Akbar” real loud and see if anyone joins in. Then you’ll know who to keep an eye on.

Here's the thing, tho.  I had never flown Frontier before and it was... great!  Convenient departure times both ways for nonstop flights, both times the plane was there plenty early, we boarded early, backed away from the gate early, arrived on time or early.

Sure they nickel and dime you ($4 for a coffee?), but the entire roundtrip for BOTH of us including the charge for a carry-on bag was something like $432.  Granted, we left on a Saturday, but that is hella cheap.

Apparently Phoenix is something of a hub, as they had at least 5 gates dedicated to them, so I'll definitely consider them again for my future flights, particularly to Detroit where my wife's family lives.

Oh, and to the later question of upgraded seats:  they had 3 or 4 rows in the front where they blocked off the middle seat, sort of a poor-man's first class.

It shows that he was removed because he wasn’t being cooperative and compliant with the crew. That is a requirement for people sitting in the exit row. It’s real focking simple.  You don’t get to argue with the crew and stay in that seat.  They need people in those seats that they can trust and rely upon in the event of an emergency. It’s federal law and it’s clearly explained when you select the ticket and sit in the seat.

And dopes like you are propagating this problem further by turning everything into racism.  You are part of the problem.
