TheNewGirl 1,224 Posted January 13 If you're not a fan of the franchise, cool. My favorite is Rogue One. I don't know why but I feel more emotionally invested in ALL of the characters, and the end scene always makes me tear up. Is it because we know how hard they fought to get what they needed? OR that we already knew the rest of the story before it happened? Not sure, but Rogue One has my vote.

I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.

I think we like it so much because of the way it sets up A New Hope. Of the original trilogy, Empire or Jedi are a toss up. Second trilogy sucks from start to finish. Third trilogy, The Force Awakens is my fave because it brought the series back from purgatory. And also I love Daisy Ridley’s hairstyle.

zsasz 345 Posted January 14 Hard to go against Empires several cliffhangers; particularly being a kid when they happened. That being said, Rogue One is an excellent Star Wars movie.

avoiding injuries 1,413 Posted January 14 I loved the original 3 and would rank them in order of release. I was 4 when Return came out and in college when Phantom came out. I was more into movies like Fight Club and American Pie in 1999.

GobbleDog 919 Posted January 14 I was 6 when Star Wars came out - perfect demographic. Loved it, had all the toys and cards. Empire was the best. Couldn't wait to see the next one after Jedi, but they went on a 20 years hiatus. By the time it finally came back, I'd grown up and didn't care anymore, but out of curiosity I watched whatever the 4th one was... yeah, gay Jar Jar. Years later while channel surfing I came across another new Star Wars... it was Yoda in a sword fight.... bouncing around like a ping pong ball. Looked ridiculous. Sadly, Star Wars is dead to me. Don't like the CGI, which definitely makes the effects bigger, but it's basically a glorified cartoon. I was more impressed when they had to make models, explosions, puppets, etc. look real. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets. It's hipster to like Empire, but IMO, much like The Two Towers in LOTR, it's more transitional than able to stand on its own. I get it that you like the cliffhangers, which is fine if you can see the final episode right away, but we had to wait 3 years. I'd probably pick New Hope over Jedi. I was a perfect age for the movies -- 10 when New Hope came out, and 16 and horny when Leia wore that gold bikini. https://www.google.com/search?q=princess+leia+gold+costume&sca_esv=3ec098e3b7112be9&sxsrf=ADLYWIJYGGJEeWZ-uzjEMwtdZjjj7JzZTw:1736882930025&source=hp&biw=1368&bih=743&ei=8bqGZ6DrPPzfkPIPoKuW-AI&iflsig=AL9hbdgAAAAAZ4bJAqFEUl5rU-uuwmMYCmMGqgyne2N3&oq=princess+leia+go&gs_lp=EgNpbWciEHByaW5jZXNzIGxlaWEgZ28qAggBMgUQABiABDIFEAAYgAQyBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABDIFEAAYgAQyBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABDIFEAAYgAQyBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABEiaNFAAWPsTcAB4AJABAJgBywGgAdANqgEFOS42LjG4AQHIAQD4AQGKAgtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZ5gCEKACng7CAgQQIxgnwgILEAAYgAQYsQMYgwHCAg4QABiABBixAxiDARiKBcICCBAAGIAEGLEDmAMAkgcGNC4xMS4xoAfkVA&sclient=img&udm=2 Looking up Rogue One, I don't think I've seen it.
