pretty large spreads on 3/4 of the games.  This weekend can't be as much of a snoozer as the wild card games were, can they?

I hope this round is better than the last one and the season in general.  What a boring regular season. The only big games I remember are Chifs/ Bills and Lions/ Vikings. And the Lions one sucked. Tampa provided some excitement, otherwise boring. Haves and have nots and most games decided early.

Cant say I love the matchup for the Bills.  Ravens on paper and stats have been better than the Bills across the board.  And their defense has been trending up big time.

Going to be sorta cold Sunday evening.  Tackling Henry 28 times doesnt sound fun.  If Lamar plays a good game, they will be hard to beat.

Bills defense played better Sunday.  And Broncos were scoring points.  But again a rookie QB going into Buffalo.  And Denver hasnt had a running game.  Cant tell exactly how that defensive performance translates.

Eagles will destroy LA at the Link. It is not a good matchup for them, as we seen earlier in the season

Saturday in KC looks cold but that's about it.  It'll be 45 degrees the day prior but on Saturday the high is 27 with an overnight low of 6.  That's comfortable playoff football weather.

Texans Cover.   Lions Cover.   Rams win.    The Ravens Bills one is tough!!  But since it's at Buffalo, I gotta take the Bills.

If Supermike, who is one of the most visionary game and betting analysts I've ever come across, says it will happen, bet it. Very excited that the Rams will beat the Eagles.

I'm starting to get tired of how much media attention this team gets :bench:

https://x.com/PatrickMahomes/status/1879167594185588979

Also weird to think the Chiefs are a win over the Texans away from playing in their 7th consecutive conference championship game.  I think the record is eight for the Pats.  I can see why other fans get tired of it.

ESPN, seemingly ignorant of the fact that 3 people froze to death outside their friend’s house after a watch party, is running a story about how it was so cold at the Chiefs game last year that 15 people were treated for frostbite.

Heard that, too.  Still, running that story is a little out of touch.

Very isolated and seperate incidents.   There was some weird shenanigans with that watch party story.

KC - 8? I don't think Houston is very good but have the Chiefs beaten anybody by eight this year?

Saints by 13. 9ers by 10, Browns by 14, Texans by 8 and steelers by 19.

I was being a bit facetious becaues the 2024 team is known for pulling out 3 point wins and not finishing off a team until after the two minute warning.

Not trying to flood but this is the time to talk about the last 4 games.   And the bye should really benefit the Chiefs here.

https://atozsports.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs-news/all-chiefs-players-practice-on-first-injury-report-vs-texans/

Observations:

Chris Jones logging a full practice is an excellent sign that he'll be playing in this game. Jones injured his calf against the Texans back in Week 16 and sat out the Chiefs' Christmas Day game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as Week 18 against Denver with all the other starters.

Jaylen Watson also appears to be making his return from an ankle injury that he suffered back in Week 7. He has practiced for about two weeks now since K.C. opened his 21-day practice window. Coach Andy Reid did mention while speaking to the media on Tuesday that Watson may be on a bit of a snap count, but having him back in any capacity will be a boost for Chiefs' secondary.

It looks like the Chiefs are still taking things slowly with Mecole Hardman, but even a limited practice is a step in the right direction. If he's able to practice in full in either of the next two days, he could have a shot to play this week, but he'll have to be activated off of injured reserve.

Al-Shaair's status will be closely monitored as he is one of the leaders of Houston's defense. The Chiefs avoided him in Week 16 as Al-Shaair was serving a three-game suspension.

It has already been reported that starting right guard Shaq Mason will not play in this game as he continues to recover from a knee injury. His backup, Juice Scruggs, also missed practice on Tuesday, so the Texans appear to be quite thin at that position heading into Saturday.

Veteran Robert Woods also did not practice on Tuesday. With how thin the Texans are at receiver, being without Woods would not be ideal.

Denico Autry and tight end Dalton Schultz are key players who were limited. They are both likely on track to play, but if they have a setback it would be a big blow for Houston.

I could see the Chiefs struggling this weekend.  Might come out rusty.  Is Mahomes 100%?

He hasn't played a game since Christmas Day.  Most of the starters haven't.   Rusty, maybe.   But there isn't a healthier team heading into this weekend.

As usual, Supermike is on top of it. He has mad knowledge and skills when it comes to football prognostication that few, if any, can match. Why he's slumming around this place instead of making boffo bucks off of sportsbooks is beyond me, but he sure knows his shite.

Bills are as healthy as they’ve been all year actually. Codrington who returns punts and Ray Davis are the only 2 question marks for this week I believe. Still don’t love our chances but I’m the most pessimistic Bills fan you’ll ever meet 🤣

The Texans/Chiefs game isn’t being played…. It has already been scripted for the Chiefs victory…

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/nfl/article-14289319/Rams-Eagles-NFL-playoff-game-snow-weekend.html

On Sunday, the game of the weekend follows Rams vs Eagles with Buffalo Bills hosting Baltimore Ravens at Highmark Stadium.

The winner of that game will play the Chiefs for a place in the Super Bowl, while winner of Rams vs Eagles in the snow will face the Lions or Commanders.

The Bill are going to smoke the Ravens. Lamar isn't built to win these games.

Based on the poll there's really only 1 game most people feel has a chance to be something other than the low seed moving on.

Henry is though. I think Balt goes to the dance and loses to the Lions. Nobody can score with the Lions.

Does Brady ownership help?

Wouldn't for me but who knows? Brady got the #1 High School QB prospect to flip from LSU to Michigan, so there is still magic in his wand.

Not surprised when they canned their GM.  Although I really thought it would be Glenn

Says a lot about Chicago if Johnson chooses a bare cupboard Raiders team over the Bears.

"Chiefs in perfect health", meanwhile...

Quote

Thursday's practice brought some bad news for the Texans, who saw RB Joe Mixon sit out of the final practice of the week due to injury. Mixon first appeared on the injury report with an ankle injury on Wednesday after practicing in full on Tuesday to start the week. Texans media members strongly believe Mixon will still play on Saturday, but this at least raises some questions about his potential availability. Even if he does play in the game, there's certainly reason to believe he won't be 100% healthy.
