I pretty much agree. Being a combat vet and overseeing the day to day operations of our entire military is a totally different animal. Wilingness to put one's life on the line and to lead a plattoon and to be shot at and to go through deprivation is fine, but generally I look for a bit broader perspective than that of a "war fighter" with good hair and a frat boy party propensity. Still, good luck to him. He has educational credentials and has conducted himself admirably while being dragged through the muck these last several weeks.
