Dress warm at NFL playoff games

Be careful and dress warm if you are headed to any of the cold weather playoff games.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Some of the people who attended the record cold Chiefs vs Dolphins playoff game in January of '24 had to undergo amputations after suffering frostbite, a Missouri hospital said Friday.

Research Medical Center didn't provide exact numbers but said in a statement that it treated dozens of people who had experienced frostbite during an 11-day cold snap last January. Twelve of those people -- including some who were at the Jan. 13 game -- had to undergo amputations involving mostly fingers and toes. The hospital said more surgeries are expected over the next two to four weeks as "injuries evolve."

At what point does the NFL start to require stadiums to have a retractable roof.

In today's world, this sort of thing could lead to some costly lawsuits.

I love cold weather games as much as anyone, but with the direction the league is going, softening the game, one has to think they're gonna be phased out at some point

It's not going to be near that cold in KC.  I think high is 26, but with a 3:30 pm gametime it shouldn't be near as cold as that record game against Miami.

You should be proud to lose a toe for your team.  Like Jameis said, they are putting their body and life on the line every single day!  When they're not out stealing crab legs and sexually assaulting massage therapists of course.

so now people are gonna sue the football team because they were too stupid to put on warm clothes when its cold outside?    This is going beyond what is reasonable.   Any person with half a brain dresses for the weather.   whether it be hot or cold.  How is this different from going outside for a long walk?  if you get frostbite are you now going to sue the city?

football is an outdoor sport, so if viewing the game you need to dress for the weather.   failing to do so can result in frostbite and possible loss of limb due to frostbite.

It’s stupid, but, one can sue for the hot cup of coffee they brought, was to hot.

Going beyond what was reasonable happened ages ago. This is just the reality of the world today.

It's not a matter of if this happens, but when. I'm certain the NFL and the teams with outdoor stadiums in cold weather cities have taken this into consideration.

I'm just waiting for a religious person to try to sue god for the Weather.    That would be both stupid and funny.   but It wouldnt surprise me if some idiot tried it.
