Did Lamar Jackson graduate kindergarten?

My question to you is, since when did we start accepting the butchering of the english language?   Why is that OK?

I remember Jesse Jackson, who was of course polarizing.  When people came out and said we should start teaching ebonics in school he was 100% against that.  He said all children, regardless of color, should be held to the same standards when it comes to english.  I agreed with him.   And I also DO NOT like the southerners who butcher the language either.  this is NOT a racist position to expect someone to speak correctly.  Only race baiters push this sh!t and I am tired of it.  Stop dumbing down things in the pursuit of some stupid racial angle.

Better question, when did we become so pedantic?

Gawd, that accent was the worst part of my four years there.

Also I was going to say:  how can you be racist?  You were born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, that bastion of Democrat liberal acceptance.  There is no racism there!

Absolutely embarrassing how lazy people are with their accents. My MIL has the worst one

This is short sided. Whatever you think of my liberal ideas, around 49% of voters preferred them in the last election. Don’t kid yourself that they’re dead. Actually I firmly believe that most woke ideas are inevitable and will come to be accepted in the years and decades to come, including by you. You just don’t realize it now.

True but that 49% is dropping as more minorities are realizing they have been sold a bill of goods and switching.  Problem is the "Far Left" has highjacked and alienated the moderate Dems who are now jumping ship.   Dems have put their eggs into a 1% basket that moderates don`t care about.

We all saw the "Get on and Vote" commercials.  Well people did and it did not go the way it was planned.  Hispanic males voted 55% Red, way up from 4 years ago and gaining.

I know that left wing parrots like Peenie have never been exposed to Thomas Sowell, or she was and was told he is a Tom, but he dives into why black people speak the way they do.  Turns out they were mimicking the poor Scotch - Irish, who were the dominant culture in the south post slavery.

Watch commercials on TV for an hour or so.   That will solidify that position

Why am I even in your comment? The person you should be addressing is the OP. I clearly have explained why Lamar speaks the way he does; it's a regional dialect that reflects his segregated poor upbringing. I don't need Thomas Sowell, but you and the others here might need him.

It's not racist to call a person of color dumb. However, calling a successful exceptional person dumb who you have witnessed with your own eyes giving interviews and hasn't exhibited ignorant behavior other than speaking in a way that has been stereotypically labeled inferior, is dumb.

No, no, no...don't even try it, don't try to switch it, the argument is about Lamar Jackson graduating kindergarten, not every player, playa.

So saying a black person is dumb is racist?  Or just Lamar?

Im sure you have called many black people dumb in your life.  Did you know all of their backgrounds?

We're not British, and to us as Americans, many British accents sound smart (not all). We're not keen to it, but to the British, they do know and sort of peg people by their accents. There is a sort of hierarchy of accents. Rumor has it that Margaret Thatcher had training to make her voice sound more royal or elevated:

Complete hogwash.  I believe this past election was a referendum on woke ideology, and it lost miserably.  Americans are sick and tired of the horrible identity politics that the Left has been ramming down our throats for the last 20 years.  People don't won't that divisive nonsense.  They want everyone treated the same, regardless of color.  You know, MLK's dream.

Your ideology in this area assumes the worst in people.  You see race and color everywhere, and you impute the worst possible intentions on people.  Despicable is the only word I can use to describe it.  It's also inaccurate.  There are very few people in this country who hate people based on skin color.  Very few.

I don't, because he's a product of his time. He is right about many things but like Clarence Thomas and Jason Whitlock, spends too much of his time trying to prove something to white people and too often overlooking the obstacles and disadvantages blacks face and have to overcome. Yes, if we get good educations, stay in school, marry and go to work, blah, blah, blah... but forget all about the poor unsafe school and neighborhoods that we live in and cannot move out of due to racial impediments and how whites can effortlessly move through society in comparison...don't get me started.

I really like Sowell, I really do, as a matter of fact, I wish it was mandatory that everyone listen to him, but he is soft about some of the obstacles we've faced. However, this is a new day. The internet has really leveled the playing field and barriers that we faced before have been removed. I'm talking about the past. Things are really changing; I don't think minorities and whites for that matter are facing the same problems of the last century. It's a new day.

so basically you only want to listen to black men that support your narrative you single out conservatives despite their education and lived experiences.  Probably shouldn't listen to Larry Elder ever either

but at least you know alot of Sowell, thats good of you

You missed my point. I was trying to point out that Margaret Thatcher changed her dialect/accent in order to sound more elevated. That all societies have accents and dialects that sound proper or low class. She tried to imitate the upper British class accent. As for Lamar, he was poor and grew up in a poor neighborhood and in general we tend to consider southern accents as lesser elevated that northern accents. Yes, he speaks in a way that sounds uneducated, but he is in fact educated. He has a college degree, and he is successful. He has a dialect, that's it. It has nothing to do with his intelligence. Get over your bias.

There is someone here who calls him clownzo and that is just so funny to me.

You know, though, Trump himself is a funny guy. He says stuff off the cuff that at first sounds a little off or mean, but later, I'm like, that was correct and smart.

Example: Fake News

Woah.......hang on Peenie.  In one breath you say he had a "segregated poor upbringing" then in the next breath you point out his 3.whatever GPA At a university?   Can  you explain that?   Seems he broke through that horrible situation now didn't he?

Anddddd here's where you're wrong 100%  If ANYONE, regardless of color, speaks like that, I will immediately view them as not very intelligent.  You are bringing race into it, and using race to apologize for it, and you shouldn't be.  If my white kid talked like that, I'd correct it...quickly.  And hes WHITE!

Youre wrong on this issue Peenie.  100%  And you're wrong because you're turning it into a racial issue.
