Hawkeye21 2,259 Posted January 21 It's -16 here. Schools are canceled. My truck wouldn't start. There's a freaking blizzard warning along the gulf coast right now. That's crazy!
Fnord 1,802 Posted January 21 20 below air temp when I went to work this morning. My (late model with a newish battery) truck damn near wouldn't start. January sucks. They sure as hell never called off school for cold temps back in the old days. My kids got more snow days last year (when it barely snowed) than I did from grades 7-12. And that includes the epic blizzard of '91 that basically shut down the state for 3-4 days.

Low of 32 tonight (that's one thing about the desert, you get large high/low variations because of the dryness). I'll have to think about covering some stuff, but probably won't. Going back up to 70 by the weekend tho.

Maximum Overkill 1,580 Posted January 22 Not as cold here as most places but 24 degrees with 3" of snow already is extremely rare. 2018 is the last time we've even seen snow and that wasn't much.
listen2me 23 1,779 Posted January 22 -14 this AM for me.
listen2me 23 1,779 Posted January 22 The clearer days bring the negative temps. A 2 or 3 days stretch here where it doesnt snow is rare. So no shoveling or bad roads while the temps are this low.
