whatjusthappened 0 Posted January 22 20+ year league. Two team owners work together. One left his office computer signed-in to his team -- essentially all season. The other owner, from time to time, would happen to use this computer - and would have access to pending free agent acquisitions, trade offers and general communications of the other team. (It was found that this was being done at least weekly - and usually more frequently.) Is this just stupidity of the one owner to leave his team logged-on to a work computer - or is this grounds for more serious consequences for the 'prying eyes' owner? How would you handle this if you were the commissioner - who is not (yet) aware of the situation? What would you do if you were the team that was spied on? Thanks for another great season of information and entertainment!

Thanks for another great season of information and entertainment! Were there any shenanigans like head scratching drops or lopsided trades?! As long as nothing shady came out of it then I'd let it go.
JagFan 143 Posted January 22 It probably depends if you’re a Patriots fan as to how you feel about cheating to win.

Thanks for another great season of information and entertainment! If he made any transaction decisions or moves for another owner behind their backs, then it's grounds for dismissal from the league IMO. Is this seriously a question? This is like asking if you go through someone's drawers and find their credit cards, is it okay to use them without their knowledge? Of course it's not! Thanks for another great season of information and entertainment! no doubt this is shady. problem with this kind of thing is it is difficult to prove. If they can prove it, some form of penalty is warranted for the team spying. my best guess as to punishment..... they forfeit a draft pick. I'd probably make it a 3rd if it was just snooping. but if it was more than that and he went in and did roster moves, the guy should be either expelled or he forfeits his first round pick. To be clear, it is very difficult to prove someone was snooping in an email if the computer was left open like the first dude did. only way to bust him is if hes caught red handed in the process of snooping past emails. of course they are at work, so there may be additional penalties applied in the work place if busted doing that so this guy could be facing additional discipline in his place of work as well. nobody 2,536 Posted January 24 So there is a shared work computer without individual logins? And the guy just happened to use the computer and see the other guy still logged in to the league? In this case, the guy who didn't log out did a dumb and no punishment is warranted. If the snooper, though, was pulling some Mission Impossible sh¡t and sneaking around gaining access to the other guy's personal computer, I'd probably kick someone like that out of the league since that's too shady and is against the law.
