Global warming. AKA: Earth  being Earth.

Sorry. I not a "smart liberal".

I know this is a bait thread but there is no doubt in my mind that the concept of global warming is real. Frankly, I think you have to be pretty dumb to not acknowledge it's existence. Weather in my NYC suburbs is nothing like what it was 20 years ago. The winters are far more benign, in general. Spring also seems to not really exist and Fall is barely there either. It's impossible for increased human activity and advancement to not impact the environment.

To be fair, snow in florida, or a 75 degree day in New York in February, etc, etc could all be argued as extreme weather that supports climate change.

That said, it's not close to the doomsday issue liberals want to make it out to be.

Jeremiah 10:13.  When He speaks in the thunder the heavens are filled with water. He causes the clouds to rise over the earth.  He sends the lighting with the rain and releases the wind from His storehouses.  Indeed

God is the reason, for the season.  Amen Thanks

Good for you Stanley.

But global anything is global happening. It's not created by humans.

Even the liberals gave up their hysterical global warming rants.

That's why they changed "global warming" to "climate change". Pay attention.

i dont care enough about it or feel it is a big enough issue to worry about what terminology is more popular these days.

Why don't you go study the history of changing climates throughout time, even extreme changes happening prior to the industrial revolution.

right. to say that I believe in man made impact on nature but that I don't think its even close to the hot button issue liberals want to make it out to be.  I have an opinion on it, i'm just not one of the overly worked up libs :dunno:

yeah, so I also never said that climate change has never occurred before, or for other reasons. Why don't you point out where I did?

I didn't say you did. My point is climate change happens without human interference so it could be happening now independent of people.

Has the climate ever changed before? In the history of the Earth? Maybe a little?

This has happened thousands of times throughout history

How the Earth’s Magnetic Field Flip Will Impact Life on Our Planet

  • The flipping of the planet’s magnetic pole occurs cyclically and at predictable intervals, roughly every 200,000 to 300,000 years.
  • The Earth’s magnetic field has flipped every 200,000 to 300,000 years for the past 20 million years, although it has been longer than that since the last flip.
  • The possibility of the next geomagnetic reversal is uncertain, and it is unclear whether we should be worried about its occurrence.

The last flip of Earth’s magnetic poles, according to some research, may have occurred around 420,000 years ago and seems to have been accompanied by a weakening in the magnetic field, which is believed to have caused a global environmental crisis towards the end of the Glacial Period.

During the Laschamp excursion, the North Pole wandered across North America and then rapidly down through the Pacific to Antarctica. The North Pole remained in Antarctica for around 400 years and then rapidly moved back up through the Indian Ocean to the North Pole. However, these changes were accompanied by a weakening in the magnetic field to as low as about six percent of its strength today.

The ozone layer was very damaged and living beings were exposed to the harmful ultraviolet light more directly than ever. Extreme climate changes and natural disasters are also believed to have occurred during this period.

Absolutely. I definitely believe that monumental events we have no control over could happen and completely dwarf any man made impact.
Part of the reason why our own impact doesn’t concern me like it seems to concern certain people.
Just saying that I’m also not one of those who dismisses human impact

When water vapor in the atmosphere freezes into tiny ice crystals within clouds it will clump together to form snowflakes and those fall to the ground.

30,000 years ago weather was nothing like it was 20,000 years ago.  And 20,000 years ago weather was nothing like it was 10,000.  Did you know just 12 000 years ago Chicago was cover by a glacier?   We will never know how much man is contributing and how much is natural.

Agree to disagree. I do agree that we will never know how much is man vs natural but I simply don’t think it’s 0 man. It feels like an almost ridiculous thing to say. How impactful man is… certainly debatable. Could be such a small impact. All I’m saying is, it’s there.

Lol, climate changes take place, been doing so from the start, but not to worry, things will be warming up, God promises to melt the earth.

2 Peter 3:7.  But by the same word the heavens and earth that now we exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgement and destruction of the ungodly.  Indeed Amen Thanks

I acknowledge that the climate has always changed, even before man. But if we let the government steal more of our money, they promise to stop the climate from changing even more. Stop being selfish. 🤪

Even mass serial killers on Earth are not even a blip on the radar of the universe. Yet somehow, we humans think we can control the weather in this galaxy. Amazing ain't it? How stupid humans can be.

A front of cold air moved into a warm air area and that caused the warm moist air to rise and form clouds, that in turn produces precipitation in the form of snow because the temperature was below freezing in the clouds and at round level.

I remember when Global Cooling was a thing in the 70's.   When that didn't work, they renamed it "Global Warming".  When THAT didn't work they had to rename it "Climate Change".

And that doesn't work either because no one believes the climate ISN'T changing.  It's been changing for as long as the Earth has been around.

Thanks, professor. Now can you explain how the government stealing more of my money can stop that from happening?

Sure, as soon as you can tell me which branch of the government is trying to stop snow or rain.

It is well known that the radical Democrats are trying to enact policies to "stop climate change".

"stopping climate change" is one of the more inane ideological positions of our time, surpassing when they tried to sell us on a looming ice age

Yes, they are trying to reduce man made climate change.  But....

You said the government was stealing your money to stop precipitation, they are not.

If you are going to attempt to insult someone by facetiously calling them professor it would help your cause by not making absurd statements.  IAT, have a nice day.

Where did you disagree?  I agree with you, man contribution is not zero and the alarmist are grossly exaggerating.  The worst part is their solutions are just to give themselves power and line their pockets with money.  I have been saying for 40-years this issue is mostly solved by moving to more nuclear energy.   But no, they are only interested in wind and solar, meaningless international treaties and all their cap and trade BS.  Their interest was not in solving the problem, but profiting from it.

I've lost track...  How many years does the Earth have left?  AOC at one point said we only had 12 years left.

Each of the Top 10 hottest years on record happened within the past 10 years and 2024 was the single hottest year on record. Means nothing. But it’s snowing in Pensacola so climate change is a hoax.

Geek logic.

Shoot, you only gotta go back to the 1980's when the fear was the Earth was going to be covered in ice.

Compelling!   Pretty sure it was hotter during the decades the dinosaurs went extinct though. (as well as numerous other times in unrecored history) Too bad they didn't have the intellectual capacity to write it down, it would have nullified your hottest on record claim.
