What's the most amount of cash you've seen?

Recommended Posts

In my business we get a few customers that like to pay for big ticket items with cash.  I think the most I've ever seen was $15,000.  Today a customer paid $20,000 in cash and it's the biggest stack I've seen.

Biggest amount in a check I've written was about $30k, but cash, I can"t remember using or seeing more than more than a few thousand at a time.

I once knew a guy who sold pot. Not necessarily a friend, but a friend of a friend that had a freaking pound of pot. All in one bag. Most I've seen ever in one place.

Right? Who the heck has massive cash in hand unless you are doing something illegal? Checks are no big deal. I wish I could have used my credit card when I bought my car simply for the points. But nope, check it is.

I had a Cuban friend named Tony back in the 80's who paid $40 G in cash for a Tiger, he paid in cash for everything.

My cousin got arrested once. Me and my Uncle showed up with $19K in Hundreds to bail him out.  The poor lady at the Jail's front desk had to count it 3 times. She was like "you know most people call a bondsman" haha

Not sure how much it was but we did a raid in Afghanistan and carried out duffle bags full of US cash. By far the most money that I've ever seen.

In the 1990s I sold my 1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0L because, well, I had my first child and needed a more family-friendly car.

I asked $6K, and the buyer showed up with 60 x $100 bills.

I'm sure I've written and received much larger checks, but for cash, this is the one that stands out to me.

I was going to reply that the stack of cash sitting on his Mom's bedside table was quite impressive.

Guess she was saving up all her whorin' money for you big fella!

Yeah. As a kid I remember my dad and older family members always bought and sold used cars in cash.

I've worked in several vaults and have seen big money often. In my twenties, I worked at a casino and moved behind the scenes to an underground bank. Huge money and chips but I was never in charge of the grand total. Later, I worked in a vault at an amusement park. I was the main person that different departments would verify with me and then leave for the night. This went on until it was just me and a couple of guards who would often leave to cruise the park in their golf cart. This left me alone, often with one or two duffel bags filled with about 3-4 million. I thought it was funny that I was 90% done with a caper.

Later in life, I worked at a couple different casinos. One, I was personally in charge of about 25 million in cash and another ten in chips and promo stuff. I counted it most days, more than once. Then a much larger casino, maybe 10x that amount but I never counted it just occasionally walked past huge amounts.

Farmers do. So do people who own their own trade businesses, like carpenters.

One of the greatest cars ever.  More understated than all the garbage plastic on the GTs, but a blast to drive.

Sawr a million and touched it. Early 90’s they had an anniversary for the USCustoms at the USCustoms building on Canal St. They had many items confiscated property from the drug lords. Cars, planes, a million in coke, and a million in marijuna. I had to go just to see it.

I used to work at a bank and once a month me and another worker would have to lock ourselves in the vault and count all the money on hand.  Well over $1 million in cash.

Miss the part about Binions?  You have to edit posts now?  Sad what I've turned you into. Just sad.

With selling farm equipment, I see some pretty large checks. Most equipment is financed though. It’s still different seeing a stack of cash and having to count it. Doesn’t happen often.

Ha. My first car after college was a 1989 mustang LX. But not the 5.0L.  Couldnt afford the insurance or extra juice.  I loved that car.  Put over 110k on it.

Back in the late 90s I used to run underground poker games with some crazy high stakes.  The normal buy in was 250k. One time they played 20-40000 blinds and the buy in was 1 mill.

also ran a poker tournament where 500k was the prize pool so saw all of it sitting in lock boxes at the final table

you guys know what I do.  I can’t count how many times I’ve had 100k in cash in my hands. The biggest cash transaction I’ve done is 300k. Just did a crypto deal for almost 7 figures. I know not cash but insane seeing that number being transferred

Holy crikey!

I had the night of a lifetime at Jackpot Junction sometime in the late 1990s. Played the four $1.00 deuces wild machines they had. I got 4 deuces ($1000) 5 times and walked out with just under 6K cash in my pockets. Jackpot Junction is out in the middle of nowhere on sovereign land. I was very careful to make sure no one was following me when I left.
