Elon musk access to the treasury

Recommended Posts

An unelected billionaire, with no actual Congressional authority or govt experience, has access to Treasury payment systems and sensitive information about millions of Americans who receive Social Security checks, tax refunds, and other payments.

What could possibly go wrong?

It’s not a comfortable situation, I agree.

Matthew 12:8.  For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.   Indeed Amen Thanks

This constant whining by the resident Boyosexual club members seems even worse than in 2016.  Is this what were in for?  500 new hysterical threads a day about Trump?

"TRUMP LOOKED LEFT INSTEAD OF RIGHT TODAY!  OMG!  ARMEGGEDON!"

"TRUMP WORE A RED TIE INSTEAD OF A BLUE TIE! OMG!  ARMEGGEDON!"

I guess it's not only trannies that are mentally ill - the Boyosexuals match them perfectly.

Cool Biden gave billions to Ukraine. What could Elon do that’s worse?

Well Elon now has the ability to decide who gets paid and who doesn't.  So if he doesn't like aid going to a country he can stop it.  He doesn't like a project being funded he can stop it.  Doesn't like employees being paid he can stop it.  He doesn't like govt grants going to his competitors he can stop it.  I don't remember where in the Constitution it allows the world's richest man the ability t decide how America spends its money.

The second issue is privacy.  He now has access to your data.  What you paid in taxes, how you made your money, how much you receive in benefits, etc.  what is he going to do with all this data?  Did we vote to allow musk to have this data?  Who is he going to sell it to?  How is he going to use it to enrich himself?

You can read the article if you want the full picture.

Or you can ignore and be clueless.  Choice is yours

The people who have been granted access to the payment system were made Treasury employees, passed government background checks and obtained the necessary security clearances.

Nothingburger

Unless you're a sky screamer who loves government spending.

DOGE should leave the Treasury department alone since it makes Dems cry.  Rinse/Repeat for Homeland Security, Interior, Health and Human Services, Education, and all the rest.

The subtitle of the article says "so-called" Department of Government Efficiency.  No agenda from the NYT Lefties here.

But you are right, the richest man in the world, under tremendous scrutiny, will probably just write himself a check.  We're better off with the old model, where career civil servants end up with 8 figure net worths and 3 beach houses.

Between the hurricanes and the fires its been a bad year for beach houses.  You need at least three, statistically, to end the year with even one.  Three is the bare minimum moving forward if you hope to always have one in condition for occupancy..

At OPM, Musk’s staffers won’t leave—they work around the clock and have even installed sofa beds in the office. Our access to data systems has been restricted, raising serious concerns about cybersecurity and a complete lack of oversight. We are keeping our heads down and documenting everything.

More details will be released soon, but rampant illegal activity is occurring here.

Note to OPM staff: Personal items cannot be searched. If any attempt is made, demand legal representation. Personal devices you own are off-limits to these staffers. Also, do not leave personal items in the office overnight. Stay alert and cautious.

They aren’t staffers. They have no security clearance and DOGE is not a government department.

The DOGE personnel wanted to gain access to USAID security systems and personnel files, three sources said. Two of those sources also said the DOGE personnel wanted access to classified information, which only those with security clearances and a specific need to know are able to access.

Three sources told CNN that the DOGE personnel were eventually able to access the headquarters.

You are defending USAID?    That is how Deep State NGOs launder money to terrorist groups, under the guise of "aid."  Good riddance.

Is the thread about the unelected folks gaining access to the treasury which has always been the case or USAID which was created by executive order? I can’t keep up with all the winning.

1. I have no idea if this is true or not, its the NY Times after all

2. IF true, and that's a focking massive IF, not cool and there should be some sort of control / audit / oversight.

3. My spidey sense tells me they have controls in place or its not totally true blah blah blah and this is just hysteria by the left based on what ifs.

I too am slightly concerned.

However none of these media stories (in Geek Club fashion I only glanced at them), there aren't proper controls in place.  News Flash:  Social Security is a government function.  There have been people, many people with access to personal information for decades.  Who do you think oversees Social Security?  Robots?

I am 100% agreed that any government agency should have protocols and controls in place to protect sensitive information of the people.  But JFC, where has this hysteria been the past 50 years?  Oh, you just blindly trusted the government....back then.  Got it.

I trusted professionals to do their job.  People who took an oath to uphold the Constitution.  People that have traditionally been apolitical.

I do not trust a druggie trump fanboy who said he would be in jail if Trump didn't win who is trying to be the world's first trillion aire with this kind of sole power with no oversight.

I cannot believe government agencies have access to my personal data. This is mind blowing.  I mean, they made me get a social security number, get a library card, license plate,  property tax, income tax of where I worked, on and on.  The past 60 years we've all just given every access to government possible but now.......not NOW!  How dare they (government agency) have even the remote access to any data?!?!  :clutchespearls:
