Give or take a few words. I'm guessing he has a list of teams and let's see who wants to give up 2 or 3 first rounders+ for him.

Mortgaging the future for very expensive rapidly depreciating assets which cause locker room resentment among one's own ascending stars who will necessarily have to delay getting paid because of his contract is the road to ruin more often than not. I wouldn't do it either. I was more commenting on the reporting of it. Barring injury, he's got a few very good years left in him though. If he went.to the Chiefs, or Vikings, or teams that are fairly complete and ready, that could be something of a massive push over the top.

Though why he would go to the Vikings who are doomed to perpetual failure until and unless they move back outside as god intended I do not know.

listen2me 23 1,779 Posted Monday at 10:44 PM I would trade Packers 1st and pay him and not look back. Sucks because they have invested heavily in the DL and havent gotten enough out of it. I am all for building through the draft and not doing these types of deals. But there reaches a point when you make a move. Jordan Morgan was their 1st this year. A shoet armed tackle moved to guard who ended up on IR. Not even sure if he was good enough this year to nab a starting spot. Van Ness. A beast of a talent was the pick 2 years ago in the top 15. Total bust and non factor thus far. Quay Walker and Wyatt were the 2 first a few years back. Again both immensely talented, but basically non factors and replaceable players. When you start gettong to more than one 1st is where I wouldnt even pick up the phone here. But a first this year? Yeah Id go ahead and try it. Maybe he goes down in a heap in week 3 and it sucks. But if not hes giving 2 years of elite pass rushing and then maybe a year or 2 of quality 10 sack type pass rushing. 1st rounders like Eric Stokes come innget benched and leave in that time frame. Money is the issue there vs a rookie. But at least you are getting something with said money. That all said, Packers are not doing a deal here even though adding another edge rusher is on their radar going into the offseason.
BeenHereBefore 1,421 Posted Monday at 10:55 PM He would be great for the Steelers opposite Watt but the Steelers D coach would have them both playing coverage almost every down.

Voltaire 5,033 Posted yesterday at 01:31 AM Brad Holmes kicked the tires on Garrett at the trade deadline last year but the price was too high, so he took the less expensive Browns DE instead (ZaDarius Smith).
Hardcore troubadour 14,424 Posted yesterday at 01:38 AM I’d trade him, this years first, next years first and Deshaun Watson for a conditional 6th round pick.

The thing about this, if they are able to find a trade partner, Garrett may be humiliated for what the Browns will have to accept to trade him. And it might be a team who is good, but has no true shot to win.
