I personally don't believe that the true intention is for us to be an occupying force there, just rhetoric.  I have no interest in seeing US forces there.  If there's someone we need to kill, kill them and leave.  No need to stay, don't want the territory, nothing for us there.

When Jesus drafted the Constitution he noted that it was the manifest destiny of White Americans to own all transcontinental canals, that being the Panama canal and the Suez canal.
