Do you seriously have nothing else to live for in life?

You should delete your account and go out of your room and find a friend.

I've barely posted in hours.  I've also been on this site 20+ years and made a bunch of friends, many whom I've met and others I've chatted with extensively online.

You have no social skills or, as near as I can tell, any redeeming social qualities.  I'd be amazed if you have any close friends IRL.  I'm guessing you are pretty high up the autism scale.  Whatever, I don't care, just please recognize the slightest of social cues and stop being an ass in threads that aren't political.  Such threads are what keep people, other than you, coming back here.  TIA!

I remember Son of Sam. The 10 O’clock (pm) news was a big deal in NY in the 70’s. That whole summer was Son of Sam.

I remember a slew of celebrity deaths around Elvis dying. Bing Crosby and a bunch of others. Freddie Prinze killed himself that year too.

I definitely remember that. My mom was crying and saying, "Those damned Democrats."

My first one would be the first moon walk.

I remember seeing Vietnam footage on the news and was worried I'd eventually be drafted to go there.

At that time, it seemed like every generation of Americans had gone off to war at some point.

I don't remember Vietnam. I remember the Time-Life commercials advertising for their Vietnam collection and the little kid's voice in them, asking "Dad, what was Vietnam?"

I remember Disco Demolition night, when the Tigers won the second game of a doubleheader by forfeit in Chicago. I remember when Elvis died because my mom and I were big fans and his was our favorite 8Track cassette when riding around in the car with her. I remember the summer of "Who Shot JR?"

I remember the cover of Life when that Vietnamese girl got burned by a napalm attack running in street naked and burned.

The first was an Apollo mission. Not the one on the moon. Might have been the one where the USA and Russia met and attached their modules and shook hands.

The first thing that comes to mind is Elvis dying. Remember seeing stuff about Vietnam and Watergate but didn't really comprehend what that were at the time. My mom dug Elvis though so definitely that stands out.

I flew to Memphis. His Uncle Vester was working the front gate and had seen me hanging around in the middle of the night. He took me into the guard shack and gave me some coffee and told me how Elvis' mother used to haunt her room in Graceland. It freaked Priscilla out so she a priest make her leave and she now haunts the gate. He said he would hear her asking him to let her in. The Presleys were known to tell tall tales.

Groucho Marx and Boris Karloff I believe within days of Elvis dying. Maybe the same day. IDK

My memory isn't the best for some of those things.  First thing that comes to mind is the Reagan shooting. I was 13.  So there definitely were things prior to that.  Probably missed them though. I was a kid, outside doing kid things.  I don't think I paid much attention to the world then

Reagan shooting. I was pretty young and at my babysitter's house. That place was boring AF, and I was happy to just be able to watch tv all day.

Challenger explosion meant more cuz I was older. One of the teachers came in from the lounge, interrupting my teacher in the middle of a lesson, and yelled about the Challenger exploding. We watched the news in the classroom. I must've seen that thing blow up 100+ times that day. 4th grade.

I have a vague recollection of RFK's funeral. I remember being at my aunt's house and hearing The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

I definitely remember the first moon landing, also watching at my aunt's house. I don't think it was live, it was probably the next day, since the landing was like 10:00PM my time, and I remember first watching it during the daytime.

Gettysburg Address live on C-SPAN

I got that beat, sort of.  I didn't see it live, because it was before television, but I listened to the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the radio. I remember it vividly because it interrupted an episode of The Lone Ranger.
