Wonder how many of the Black folks who voted for Trump approve of this.

On the plus side, at least it didn't happen during Black History Month.

What has Black Lives Matter done to help black Americans? Can you name a couple of  things?

100% Sir

This isn't political, BLMs goal is to divide Americans. All they do is preach hate on the white man and call for violence every time they disagree with something. Good riddance

One of their original goals in their mission statement is to replace the traditional American family.

Black Lives Matter at 10 years: 8 ways the movement has been highly effective

The Black Lives Matter movement has been highly effective over the past decade. Black Lives Matter aimed to shed light on police brutality, which it has done. Below is a list of some of the notable impacts of the movement.

  • Black Lives Matter normalized the filming of Black pain at the hands of individuals sworn to treat everyone equally. Without personal video, we may not collectively know about George Floyd, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, or Korryn Gaines.
  • Black Lives Matter shifted public opinion. For example, a 2017 Pew study found that 54% of white people viewed officer-involved shootings involving Black people to be signs of a broader problem. The fact that over 50% of white people think that policing has racial issues is a huge achievement. This attitudinal shift created a policy window for local, state, and federal changes to policing and the criminal justice system.
  • Black Lives Matter helped usher in a series of policy and organizational changes to policing that include implicit bias trainings, body-worn cameras, and bans on no-knock warrants.
  • Black Lives Matter helped illuminate the inordinate amount of money spent on policing and civilian payouts for police brutality that come out of taxpayer pockets.
  • Black Lives Matter helped stimulate federal oversight for problematic cities such as Ferguson, Louisville, Baltimore, and Minneapolis.
  • Black Lives Matter altered data collection efforts in the academy, police departments, and the federal government to better assess what law enforcement policies do and do not work to reduce racial disparities.
  • Black Lives Matter galvanized a new crop of elected officials and political actors.
  • Black Lives Matter is etched in yellow paint on the street outside of the White House

That is a very week list of a lot of intangible things. What did they to HELP all these causes? They scammed America and I give them a lot of credit for that.

Black Lives Matter co-founder describes herself as ‘trained Marxist’

Quote

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors said in a newly surfaced video from 2015 that she and her fellow organizers are “trained Marxists” – making clear their movement’s ideological foundation

You literally just copy and paste bullshat without reading it.🤣🤣🤣

During your “research”, I’m assuming you confirmed that, according to BLM founders, black trans people were the “core” of the movement?  Holy fuk, you’re lost.

That was true when the article was written and was part of the street art mural that was just removed.

BLM suggests that people think Black Lives dont matter, which is of course a lie.  So this effort to pretend there is some problem where none exist is how the powerful manipulate you to their whims.

All the unarmed blacks killed by LEOs speaks otherwise, which is what prompted the movement.

Nope.  While it happens to all people, regardless of race, the point you are trying to make is false.

The real question is why 13% of society commits 50% of the crimes, bringing it into contact with police FAR MORE than any other segment, but is only 2.5 times more likely to be shot instead of a much higher number.  Lets table that for the moment....

I would like to ask you to watch this for just a moment....

Knock yourself out railing against this one. I'll take a pass. While I personally disagree with getting rid of it, there are enough people for which the summer of 2020 dregs up some pretty horrible crap, and rightly or not, associate BLM with what transpired. It's just performative on Trump's part. I honestly don't think he personally GAF one way or the other.

I also will not besmirch the entirety of MAGA by claiming they are all racists or have some kind of animosity toward blacks. Obviously there are some, but they are the minority, even amongst that cohort. I'm pretty tired of being called a pedocrat by a Russian bot for no good reason, I'd imagine some MAGA folks feel the same way about being called racists.

You're on a roll today, fnord!  Keep up the good work! 👍

The BLM movement has emphasized from the beginning that they are are not saying only Black lives matter, or that other lives do not matter. They are saying that Black lives are valuable and deserve equal treatment under the law. The movement aims to address the systemic racism and discrimination that Black people face.

That statistic is false and was debunked in a couple other threads in this forum.

From a Google search:

No, Black people do not commit 13% of all violent crime in the US; statistics on crime rates by race are complex and vary depending on the type of crime and the year. In 2019, Black people made up 12.2% of the US population, but were involved in 26.6% of arrests for violent crimes.

They commit 56% of all violent crimes. Time to find a solution to this problem.

Pick your stats to defend the criminals as you see fit.  If you think you are helping, let me correct that misperception.  Lying to protect the AA community from scrutiny does not help them, in fact it actually hurts them.

When you are ready to be honest about what is transpiring in that community, it will be possible to help them in a meaningful way.  Until then, your actions might make YOU feel good, but at THEIR expense.

SO, keep selling them the lie that people are just being big meaners to them.....its worked so well so far....right?

I tell Squis when I disagree with him. You only need to look upthread for that. Thing is, Squis has convictions and tells the truth about how he perceives things. You might not agree or like it, but he doesn't engage in the spamming, division, name calling and hate that you do, despite being accused of it, while mostly you are not and just keep posting hot garbage.

I'm tired of nobody calling you out. You're a caricature of the stupid MAGAmook in almost every post. So what is it, Maxipad? Are you a complete dipshit incapable of critical thought? A Russian bot? An annoying performance artist trying too hard at unfunny satire? A closeted, self-loathing homosexual? Or just a boring old troll?

This should not shock anyone. It has been abundantly clear to me and anyone watching that all these businesses adopted BLM/DEI as a performative measure to fend off the left. Now that the left is no in power you are seeing a nationwide rollback of these policies. What IS shocking to me is how many black people are getting bent out of shape over this. After years of the democratic party doing this to them you would think they would see it coming.
