Trump fires back at Clooney- Second Rate Movie Star

President Donald Trump has skewered George Clooney’s acting career once again after the star critiqued his administration’s treatment of journalists.  

Clooney called out the Trump administration’s lawsuits against ABC and CBS News’ “60 Minutes” during an appearance on the program over the weekend. The ABC lawsuit was provoked by an anchor inaccurately stating that Trump was liable for rape, and was settled in December for $15 million, while the CBS suit is ongoing and based off Trump’s allegations that the program misled voters ahead of the election. 

“When the other three estates fail, when the judiciary and the executive and the legislative branches fail us, the fourth estate has to succeed,” Clooney said while promoting the Broadway production of his 2005 film “Good Night, and Good Luck,” in which he plays a CBS broadcast journalist. “We’re seeing this idea of using government to scare or fine or use corporations — to make journalists smaller.

“Governments don’t like the freedom of the press. They never have,” he continued. “And that goes for whether you are a conservative or a liberal or whatever side you’re on. They don’t like the press.”

Trump wasted no time clapping back at Clooney, taking to his social media platform Truth Social to complain about the episode.

“Why would the now highly discredited 60 Minutes be doing a total ‘puff piece’ on George Clooney, a second rate movie ‘star,’ and failed political pundit,” he wrote. “He fought hard for Sleepy Joe’s election and then, right after the Debate, dumped him like a dog. Later, I assume under orders from the Obama camp, pushed all out for ‘Kamala,’ only to soon realize that was not going to work out too well.”

“Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television,” he wrote. “Movies never really worked for him!!!”

He had a run there of great stuff. Three Kings, O Brother Where Art Thou, Michael Clayton, Idea of March, Syriana, Up in the Air, The Decendents, Gravity…all very good.

Directed Good Night, Good Luck.

Oceans movies were ok.

A+ career in Hollywood IMO.

Clooney is ok.  Not a lot of range as an actor. Kinda plays the same style with no real depth.

He’s not Daniel Day Lewis but he’s solid IMO.

The Descendants is highly underrated. Michael Clayton also super good and he carries both those movies.

decent actor who obviously gets more credit than he deserves because he's a good looking guy.  But I would hardly say his movie career didn't work out too well.  This is why, while I am definitely not a Liberal (and voted for Trump)...., it gets hard to stand Trump sometimes.  Stop chirping and just put your head down and go to work. Why are you bothering with this in the first place? why call out a guys movie career when you had to force yourself into Home Alone 2?

The only difference between Trump and any other politician is that people are willing to call out Trump.  That's literally it.  The vast majority of media on either side call out their representatives for crap they do.  Liberals will tell you "but Trump's worse", but reality (and common sense), knows that's just bull crap.  No one should ever view any politician by what they say or even do, but ONLY by the bills/policies they write and/or vote for... nothing else.
