TheNewGirl 1,333 Posted April 10 No, not going. For a number of reasons. I am not a huge AOC fan, Bernie I am meh about. I am more concerned about 10k people in this area, the traffic, and our city handling it. IMO, it's a money grab for the city.

easilyscan 847 Posted April 10 Pretty sure these 2 are proponents of MMT (modern monetary theory) Anything that is technically feasible is financially affordable. A government that creates its own currency can borrow in that currency & then pay off the resulting debt by creating more of it.

"Entertaining" as in a foolish 80 year-old man and a dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks 30 year-old who still think Communism is the answer? Yeah, that IS entertaining! It's comedy gold!!! The prior location they were going to go to is pretty red, rural, lots of recreational hunters, fishing, mountain/foothills. Folsom is just at the edge of Sacramento county before you get to the foothills, we are pretty purple but there's a LOT of new development and stuff going up. So I can see why they chose us vs another city near their prior location.

Intriguing they would go there, considering CA is a sure thing for the communists who believe .gov is a provider instead of a consumer.

He was asked to leave because all he did was talk and distract others from doing work. He did no work himself. He’s a lazy bum. Ever see that Audi sports car he tools around in? He got hooked up nice for getting out of the way.

But campaign filings show one of the tour’s largest expenses is private jet travel. Bernie’s campaign dropped $221K on private jets over the course of just one month. The revelation is just the latest contrast between his socialist rhetoric and his millionaire lifestyle. The Vermont senator used to rail against "millionaires and billionaires" in his speeches denouncing oligarchy—until he became a millionaire himself shortly before his 2020 presidential campaign, at which point he trained his fire on "billionaires."

All of them should be confined there instead of touring and screwing up traffic.
TheNewGirl 1,333 Posted Friday at 06:49 PM Reports show that between 26k and 30k people showed up, streets were full, blocked etc and there was a line of people 3 miles long. The usual Trump supporters showed up, there were some reports of Trump supporters causing trouble, but there weren't any cops called out or anything. And there was a LOT of LEO presence in the area. Several local residents had people parking on their streets, unable to get home. Several businesses had no parking as well. My husband had to miss a board meeting for a local non-profit, as there was no parking. And this meeting was at least 3 miles from the venue. Also, the school was not closed to classes, so any student going there that evening had to just deal with all of this.
